to release debut single with all-star cast

New Orleans, LA. Feb 29, 2020

New Orleans' hottest new Funk and Soul collective is about to drop their debut single, and it's straight fiya!

Queen of the Funk Marilyn Barbarin brings the same intensely soulful vocals that drove her performances on Funk classics like "Reborn" and "Can I Be Your Squeeze?" when she was only a teen to this brand new tune.

Written by New Soul Finders! founder and guitarist Marc Stone with his long time Europe touring partner Christof Waibel. Co-produced by Stone and Tank and the Bangas' producer Keenan McCrae, the track features an iconic bass line from Radiators/Professor Longhair veteran Reggie Scanlan, deep beats from Dr. John drummer Terry Scott, Jr. and living legend/Professor Longhair percussion master Alfred "Uganda" Roberts, a super fat horn arrangement by young lions the Naughty Professor Horns, psychedelic guitar touches from Papa Mali, tasty organ work by Mikey B3 Burkart and Stone's chanky rhythm and liquid slide guitar.

Check out Marc's brand new Live in Europe album - "a jaw dropping night..tht builds to an Allmans-esque climax of "Mountain Jam proportions...lightning in a bottle" according to OffBeat Magazine, who nominated the record "Best Blues Album" in their 2018 Best of the Beat Awards.
Featuring the studio single "Digitized" with N.O. Funk and Soul legend Marilyn Barbarin, Grammy-winning Blues and Roots rebel Alvin Youngblood Hart, psychedelic Soul shaman Papa Mali and genre-bending percussion visionary Mike Dillon. OffBeat calls "Digitized" "A swampy romp... a protest anthem for the times...the song swings courtesy of an all-star roster"

Every now and then you have to put the guitar down for a minute. The only thing that inspires Marc like the hum of an old tube amp is the sweet, sweet crackle of old records. A lifelong devotee of fine vinyl, Marc's passion for collecting records and dissecting licks, lyrics and liner notes was steeped in his grandfather's love of his prized 78s and his stepfather's collection of cool jazz, hard bop and three decades worth of Rock and Roll.

After a lifetime spinning records for friends and fellow musicians at home and at parties, Marc took to the airwaves on world renowned Jazz and Heritage Station WWOZ, 90.7-fm, New Orleans. In 2001 he became host of his weekly Soul Serenade program, spinning classics and rarities from a broad cross section of American roots styles and hosting a steady stream of legends and up-and-comers for interviews and live performances.

Marc has taken his deep knowledge, keen programming sense and and wicked vinyl collection from the radio studio to the stage with DJ sets at premium venues and events in New Orleans. His club sets rock the house while digging deep into the farthest corners of the vinyl trove. For private clients Marc's vast, genre crossing collection and deft touch insure the right vibe every time.
